Question of the Week #5

11 February 2009

Click the Title for the Y!A version. That's how it's gonna work.

This week's question, well, I don't know why I came up with it:

What would you do if there was blatant proof that your religious beliefs(or lack thereof) were wrong and that another's were right?

Basically if another religion/nonreligion were proved.

How hard would it be for you to adjust to that?

not that hard for me, simply because then they're would be proof, and that's the whole reason I'm Atheist.

I think it would be a little hard for me to adjust to something like that, because I feel my religion is not in any way pathological. It is very detached and preaches the basic things one should do to have a good life.

No drugs, no affairs... You get my point.

I am .. a ... Devonieshist - pretty much, it's don't drink, don't fight and eat plenty chocolate! But if I found out it wasn't real - I don't know what I'd do with myself!

But honestly - I think that's why I'm no longer Christian - after I realized that the Bible says things I in no way agree with - I noticed that there wasn't a single drop of proof to say that Christianity wasn't just fiction. (Sorry for the long run-on sentence, this damn text box is do damn small)

I'd probably believe in their religion because if I'm definitely wrong, there's no use believing anymore

Oh, I'm Andrew! Micah's pal

So is this blog dead or what?

Basically.
It may come back to life. I'm not sure.

Proof denies faith, which is the essence of religion, and thusly what was holy has been reduced to something logical and undeniable. I view religion as more of a philosophy and life choice than anything else. That's why I'm Catholic (religion) AND Taoist (discipline)

OH what clever clever comments... well the sad part is if one religion is disproved then you might as well throw everything else in the can!
All religions teach good through the existence of HE/SHE... errmmm... the one with all Capitals (?)... the way we go about following HE/SHE is where tradition gets thrown in thus making it a "religion"... tradition gives us rituals to come closer to HE/SHE...

sooo... are we proving/disproving the rituals or GOD?

hmm... if GOD was disproved however... I would go and rob 5th avenue blind and then set fire to my school ooo and go all gluttony like with CHEESECAKE!
